BoardThe price for the rooms includes a delicious, bountiful breakfast buffet from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. However we can always make exceptions. Guests may also help themselves to the crockery during the day and use the guest fridge. Parents with small children can always use our kitchen. All other guests may do so by arrangement. There are also a wide variety of opportunities to buy food or eat out nearby: supermarkets, tasty takeaways, restaurants with pickup service, etc. Please do not hesitate to ask us for advice. Telephone · Internet · TVGuests also have the opportunity to use the telephone at the reception and our fax for a small fee. The mobile phone reception is very good. There are also a number of free and chargeable WLAN hot spots and Internet cafés in the town and around the guesthouse. We do not have a television; however, important football matches are usually shown live in almost all the cafés and bars. There is also a cinema in the town and we organize moonlight movie evenings every now and again that we are also happy to combine with a delicious dinner. LaunderetteGuests may also use the washing machine (EUR 5.- per machine). SmokingAll the indoor areas are non-smoking. You are of course free to smoke outside in the garden and on the beach terrace. TransportPorto Santo is small and has quite a good infrastructure. We do not have a car, but love walking on the beach to the shopping areas and the many restaurants. Sometimes we take the bus (EUR 0.85 per journey) or a taxi (EUR 5.- for a town trip). You can also come with your own car (we have a parking area) or use the courtesy bus that many restaurants use to pickup and return their guests free of charge. It is also possible to rent bicycles, mopeds or cars (Please book in advance during August!) PetsThere are still some very cute and friendly stray dogs on Porto Santo that sometimes also come and visit us. They like to be stroked and also like to be "adopted". Please do not feed them! Due to these dogs and the fact that our cat, Morle, is scared of dogs, guests may only bring dogs along by arrangement. Wild animalsThere are many birds, such as canaries, hoopoes and buzzards, to be seen here. There are also many wild rabbits to be seen hopping around the dunes in the mornings and evenings. Younger and older children love to see the many lizards sunbathing on the warm stones - and they love to be fed little pieces of fruit or grilled chicken... If you have a good pair of binoculars, you can spot whales and dolphins moving towards Madeira on the horizon. If you want to experience these marine creatures up close, we have friends that offer whale and dolphin watching excursions from Madeira in a lovely, restored, wooden fishing boat: www.lobosonda.com |
